Dr Oelbrandt is one of Belgium’s leading Consultant Plastic Surgeons. Based at the O2 Clinic and at the Singelbergclinic,  he undertakes a broad range of surgical and non-surgical work for both private and NHS patients, specializing in facial recontouring surgery.

Plastic surgery, whether reconstructive or aesthetic, is a serious and significant surgical specialty.

Review of  2023 and New Year’s Wishes

The year 2023  is coming to an end and that means planning for the new year and looking back on a great year full of opportunities and learning.

The February visit to Dr. Mike Nayak, one of the most prominent facial surgeons in the USA was an amazing experience. He is pretty much one of the rock stars among plastic surgeons in performing deep plane facelifting and deep neck lifting. To put it in Japanese terms "OMAKASE" which means as much as: the chef gets to give his best to achieve the best result! "A total makeover! "

In May I visited the University of Caen in France, where for 2 days I attended an intensive course with Prof Yves Saban and Prof Giovanni Botti. I had the opportunity to observe extensively their techniques of Preservation Rhinoplasty and Facelifting.

Then there were also the many conferences of the Belgian Association ( RPBSP ), CATBBAS and finally at the beginning of December "The MAFAC Course" in Amsterdam. This too was an exchange of experiences in Deep Plane Facelift among the best plastic surgeons in the world. Apart from Mike Nayak, Foad Nahai, the chief editor of an important plastic surgery magazine was also present. Despite his age ( about 78 ), he is still actively working with a sharp mind.

All these new techniques and insights I take to my own practice where I still work with Dr. Frans noorman van der Dussen in another well-equipped private clinic O2 / 2PASS clinic in Berchem where you can also go for non-surgical procedures such as permanent hair removal ( electrolysis ) and hair transplants.

As one of the leading surgeons of the Singelberg and O2 clinic, I am mainly involved in performing complex facial surgery. Here the emphasis is often also placed on feminizing the face. This ranges from recontouring the bone of the forehead, narrowing the lower jaw, to placing the chin in front or behind, rhinoplasty, adam's apple reduction, lipofilling/fat injection, rhinoplasty and finally also the Deep Plane Facelift and Neck Lift. These are procedures that I perform with passion and where art and science reach out to each other in the beauty of the face.

There were also networking events at the hospital in Bornem, AZ Rivierenland, which was renovated a few years ago into a fantastically beautiful modern hospital.

On the family front, I can tell you that my 2 sons, ages 5 and 11, are growing up considerably. My wife and I try to teach them this passion of learning while respecting our fellow man and nature.
